Sociology and Scholarship

My scholarly interests straddle the academic and objective observation and study of society, with interest in applied learning and social change.  The defining opportunity of my collegiate experience  which led to my research and teaching career was the field study I conducted in Mexico for completion of my master's thesis. My thesis (Neoliberalism and NAFTA: A Case Study of the Coffee Commodity System and Huatusco, Veracruz, Mexico) was conducted in the field at the Universidad Autonoma de Chapingo near Mexico City, Mexico and in the community of Huatusco, Veracruz, Mexico.  Check out some pictures from my time there by clicking here, and a video playlist here.

I've been teaching Sociology since 1994, and full time since 2004. I'm eager to share some material from my teaching and research. Below you will find presentations, research projects, and other links and information related to my career as a Sociologist.
